Visualize Success

Writer's picture: Mike SanchoMike Sancho

The greatest athletes all made visualization a part of their daily training. They visualize each point, match, or game and imagine winning. To be successful, you have to visualize yourself in that arena called winning.

To achieve your career goals and dreams, you first have to believe that you can accomplish your goals. After setting your goals, visualize achieving them. Visualize what steps to take and see yourself taking those steps. Envision yourself achieving that next step in your career; you may even begin by envisioning your next pay raise. Start with small visualizations and gradually increase them as success begins to happen.

As you move down the path you have designed, visualize how your success affects others. See how your success helps your team members achieve their goals, imagine how the achievement of your goals impacts those around you.

Lastly, when faced with challenges or setbacks, visualize how you will overcome them. See yourself taking the actual steps to improve, learn, grow and develop. Envision how you will become a better person, more decisive leader, and more empathetic from your failures.

Visualize the end of your journey and work backward by taking it one day, one step at a time.
